Double Board Certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and Internal medicine.

She completed her Residency in Internal medicine and Fellowship in Endocrinology at Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.

Her clinical interest includes treating patients with Type 1 and 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Gestational Diabetes, Thyroid disease, Polycystic ovarian syndrome, Male Hypogonadism , Parathyroid Disorder, Pituitary and Bone disease. She is very passionate about weight loss.

Dr. Markan believes that the foundation of the doctor-patient relationship is based on trust and mutual respect. She believes in listening to her patients and communicating with them and the few extra minutes it takes to truly understand a patient’s difficulty in managing the illness is large part of treating the entire patient.
